For the Series 63 exam using Achievable if I know the key point notes at the bottom of each chapter is that more than good enough for the test?
Hi @Antoinette_Wehner, Thank you for reaching out! The Key Point Notes at the bottom of each chapter are excellent summaries of the most testable and high-yield concepts. If you truly understand them and can apply the ideas, not just recall them, you should be in solid shape for much of the exam.
That said, the Series 63 can be tricky, often testing fine distinctions and nuanced scenarios. Many questions require you to apply rules in slightly complex contexts, like exemptions, registration requirements, or fiduciary situations. The Key Points won’t always capture every subtlety, so it’s important to combine them with practice and deeper review.
Make sure you’ve completed all quizzes and practice exams, as they help you understand how the test phrases questions and connects topics. When you miss a question, go back to that section in the main text for reinforcement. If you’re consistently scoring in the mid to upper 80s on Achievable’s practice tests, that is a good sign you are ready for the real thing.
Best,
Mataia
I have STC and Achievable and my Series 63 exam is two weeks away. I read the entire Series 63 Achievable textbook so far and am using that for my test (used Achievable for SIE and Series 7 and passed both on first try with Achievable). My company provided STC but I thought that the textbook was way too dense and the information was not in a digestible format. Although this is the case I found some information while briefly looking at the STC book about order tickets that was not mentioned in the Achievable material. I am not sure whether to be worried or not about this? If I know everything in the Achievable material and am scoring mid 80s or higher on the exam by the end of my studying will that me enough? I mean it worked for my past two exams so am thinking it will be good for this one. I just want to hear the reasoning behind this and whether I should be utilizing both study aids for the 63. Regardless of the answer, I have lots more studying to do but want to make sure that Achievable is sufficient for test before I start grinding.
Also quick last question: I have seen that a lot of people are asking in forums for exam resets on their 63 platform. What does this do?
Hi @Antoinette_Wehner, nice work getting through the Series 63 material, and congrats on passing the SIE and 7 on your first tries!
Our Series 63 course is fully comprehensive, so you don’t need to use STC or any other outside materials. Everything you need to pass is included in our program, and it’s written to be clear and digestible, just like our other courses.
If you’re consistently scoring in the mid-to-upper 80s on our practice exams by the end of your studying, you should be in great shape for the real test.
As for the exam reset you mentioned, it resets your progress in the course. It sets your readiness back to 0%, marks all the chapters as unread, and all exams as incomplete. People usually do this when they’ve taken a break and want to go through the whole program again from the start.
