Testing Series 7 in 2 Weeks

Hello,

I am scheduled to take the Series 7 in 2 weeks. Does anyone have ramp-up suggestions? Or outside resources you recommend as well? One concern I have is how different the FINRA question wording can be from Achievable’s. Most of the practice exam questions feel easy to me, and I am afraid that my familiarity with the Achievable question style is inflating my practice exam scores.

My current strategy has been to do focused review of missed concepts after every practice exam. My last two practice exam scores were 82.

Regarding Options - is there further depth of the content I need to know outside of what Achievable covers?

Thank you,

Sara

Hi @sara_g,

Thank you for reaching out. Based on your report, you have a solid foundation. One suggestion I have is to avoid taking your exams in instant feedback mode at this point. While this tool is great for studying, it doesn’t effectively replicate the real exam experience and may inflate your scores, making the test seem easier since you see answers as you go.

For the next couple of weeks, I recommend switching to exam mode to better simulate the actual testing experience. Try to mirror the exam environment: take the exam in one sitting, limit distractions, avoid using instant feedback, don’t look back at the material while you take the exam, and complete the exam within the allotted time.

Your current strategy is exactly what we recommend: After each exam, review your results and focus on the areas that need the most improvement. Based on your recent scores, you should concentrate on Common Stock, Secondary Market, Retirement and Education Plans, and Bond Fundamentals. Revisit these topics in depth before your next practice exam. Reread the materials and retake the quizzes, focusing on understanding the concepts behind each question to gradually improve your practice exam scores.

Our material is fully aligned with the exam and includes everything you need to know to pass. The key is to treat each practice exam like the real thing so you can build the confidence and endurance needed for test day. Continue taking full-length exams to simulate the actual exam until you’re consistently scoring in the mid-to-upper 80s. This will give you a comfortable buffer for exam-day pressure or a tougher question sets.

You’ve got this!

Best,
Mataia
