SIE Readiness - Exam in 2 Weeks

Hi yall!
I have been firing off lots of mock SIE Final Exams and I’m starting to feel ready for the SIE. At what point did you guys feel like it was time?

I have mine scheduled for 02/18, which is in 2 weeks from today. I’m wondering if i should taper back on the practice exams, or increase my volume over the next 2 weeks.

Hi @Helen_Littel, it is great that you have been taking multiple full-length practice exams. I have viewed your account and have some feedback.

Your exam scores vary quite a bit, so I recommend spending more time on each practice exam. You’ve completed some of your recent exams in just 19 minutes. It is important to treat them like an actual exam and take your time going through each question so you fully understand what is being asked. Additionally, I recommend reviewing your most recent practice exams after you take them and reviewing each question to ensure you know what areas you need to revisit and focus on and which ones you don’t need to.

I recommend finishing the textbook, taking time on your practice exams, and reviewing them extensively afterward for the next two weeks.

Please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to study. Thank you,
-Brenden

Hi Brenden,

The variation in scores is due to giving up mid way through exams based on situation (at work, unable to finish, etc). The exams I have seen through fully recently have all been in the 75 - 89% range, which I feel good about.

I do need to spend more time on them for sure though, I have been blowing through them in general. If I am consistently getting 80+% on practice Final Exams, do you feel that I would be ready to take the SIE and pass it at that point?

Thanks so much for replying!

Hi @Helen_Littel, thank you for the additional insight. Averaging in the upper 80s to 90s indicates you are ready. You do need to be a little careful, though, as if you are scoring those scores quickly, you are likely beginning to notice patterns within the questions and answers that may influence the score increase. That is why it is important to spend a good amount of time reviewing them as well, as we have seen that is where most students see improvements in their scores.

Overall, it appears you have put in the work and put yourself in a good spot!

Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you,
-Brenden

Thank you so much again for the responses!

I just took the FINRA Mock Sie and scored a 73%, which shows me that I definitely still have some concepts that I need to tighten up on. The wording was slightly different on that practice, but I’m more focused on just learning concepts.

Thanks again!
