SIE Exam Help/Advice

I have been studying for the past week using Knopman’s SIE textbook (currently read through 5 chapters) and did well on the quizzes and unit exams at the end of each chapter. I bought Kaplan’s Qbank and decided to test myself on chapters that I already have read and haven’t been scoring so well. Last night I bought Achievable’s course to take a different approach in studying after reading great reviews. Can someone please provide me with advice?? My test date is April 21st. Should I start from scratch and re-read everything provided by Achievable’s course or should I start from the topics on where I left off on in Knopman’s textbook?

Hi, welcome to Achievable! That’s a pretty condensed schedule, but it’s doable. My recommendation is to go through our course from start to finish to ensure you cover all the material. That said, since you’ve already been studying, if you feel like you know a chapter well you can just skim it and jump straight to the quiz. If you ace the quiz, move on! Otherwise, give it a good, thorough read to re-learn that section. If you end up skimming through a lot of chapters, you can recreate the study plan to redistribute the remaining activities and smooth out your schedule.

Thank you for your reply Justin. I decided to go through all the material again to be confident in the material. I plan on finishing the material by Wednesday afternoon. Do you think that is enough time for me to take the recommended amount of practice exams and prep any weak areas before my test on the 21st?

What I think I’m asking is for your expertise advice and any tips you have for me in my situation. Thank you again. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yes, you can do it if you stay focused! You should expect to spend the entire week studying with basically no free time. Make sure to take lots of breaks to maintain your focus. I’d suggest something like studying 10 hours per day, repeating 45 minutes of studying and 15-minute breaks, with a longer break in the middle to go for a short walk outside or something similar. Approach everything with an open, learning-focused mindset. The goal is to remember as much as possible, so keep moving forward but don’t rush!
