Series 7 Vocabulary

The biggest trouble I had on the SIE was the difference in vocabulary compared to the questions on Achievable. I decided to buy the Kaplan Q-Bank for practice with more difficult questions, but I feel like they don’t represent the FINRA questions well enough. Does anyone have suggestions to prepare for the wording specifically? I understand that FINRA guards their questions, but I’m curious if anyone had similar issues and what they did to combat them?

Thanks

Hi @Guadalupe_Strosin, our questions are designed to closely mirror the real exam - many users find that their scores on Achievable’s practice exams are very similar to what they score on the actual test. The questions themselves won’t be identical, but they’re built to test the same underlying concepts.

It’s really important to focus on understanding the concepts behind each question rather than memorizing how a specific question is worded or which answer is correct. When you review, take the time to think through why each answer choice is right or wrong, and then challenge yourself to imagine how that concept might be tested in a different way on the real exam.

This approach will help you adapt to any question phrasing you encounter on the real exam and increase your confidence on test day. This user outlines this advice well: Just passed my Series 7 on the first attempt! - #5 by Lucia_Rolfson
