Series 7 exam date 1 week out

Feeling relatively good, though I am also using the Kaplan Q-bank in conjunction with Achievable and my performance there is in the low 70s on average. Any tips?

Hi @Evan_Langosh,

You are looking really solid with your readiness at 92%, especially with a full week left for fine-tuning. That is a great position to be in.

One important tip: when you take your practice exams, try to simulate the real testing environment as closely as possible. Limit distractions and avoid switching tabs or looking at your phone during the exam so your scores accurately reflect what test-day performance will look like and to practice exam stamina.

I only see two lower-performing areas in your exam summary that are worth revisiting before your next practice exam: Secondary Market and Retirement and Education Plans. That said, I can already see improvement in both areas on your most recent exam, which is a very good sign.

As for the Kaplan Q-bank scores in the low 70s, I would not be overly concerned. Kaplan questions are often more detailed and difficult than the actual exam, and many students score lower there while still performing very well on test day. The important thing is that you are consistently exposing yourself to challenging questions and learning from mistakes.

A few Achievable features that could help during this final stretch:

  • Use the Review feature on your main dashboard. It prioritizes questions you previously missed and questions you have not seen in a while.
  • You can also filter reviews by topic using the top-right filter if you want to focus specifically on weaker areas.
  • After each practice exam, take the “Focus” quiz made up of the questions you missed and flagged.

At this point, the goal is not to learn everything perfectly; it is to continue reinforcing patterns, build confidence, and stay consistent heading into test day.

You got this!

Best,
Mataia

I passed! Kaplan definitely goes a bit more in depth than needed, the exam wording was much closer to Achievable. Thank you for the tips! Now on to the 66!
