I occasionally look for a test online to gauge where I am in my progress. It usually leaves me worried about my progress because I get quesstions about things that I don’t remember ever seeing. Im almost through the text book and a lot of what I see are methods, techniques and terms that I don’t think are likely to come up in the legal section of the textbook. Am I going to take the test and run into things that are not taught here?
Hi @Dustin,
The Series 65 does include a wide range of topics, but rest assured that our course is aligned with NASAA’s official outline and focuses on the content most likely to appear on the real exam.
I took a look at your study report, and I noticed you haven’t taken any of our full-length practice exams yet. We offer over 20 practice exams, and they’re one of the best ways to gauge your readiness. After completing an exam, you’ll get a detailed summary breaking down your performance by topic, helping you identify which areas need more review so you can study more efficiently.
Your scores on our practice exams are a strong indicator of how you’ll perform on the real test; the structure, difficulty, and content are all designed to closely reflect the actual Series 65. I’d recommend starting with one of those practice exams when you’re ready, and then use the feedback to guide the final phase of your prep.
Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to support you as you study.
Thank you,
Mataia
Do people normally take the full length practice exams before they have read all the material? I have read the material now and taken a couple practice tests. I am an over-preparer, so seeing things I haven’t prepared for makes me twitchy. We have gone through a lot of material, so its possible that I just forgot some things.
@Dustin Sometimes, people take a full-length practice exam before finishing all the material, but that’s usually only helpful if they already have some background knowledge and want to quickly identify weaker areas. Since you’ve already read through all the material, you can use practice tests to pinpoint and strengthen gaps.
Your exam summary shows me your weakest areas as, Strategies: Tax considerations, Strategies: Client profile, Regulations: Registration, and Strategies: Retirement plans. Since there’s so much content, it’s normal to forget some of the more detailed points. I recommend focusing your review on these weaker sections to reinforce them.
