Can’t seem to pass Series 63. Im going to be on my third attempt in another month . I don’t understand what i am not getting . I’m super close every time . Got my sie and 7 quick, but struggling with this one . I was super confident this time too. I really thought I had it. I read the material twice and scored above 80s on my exams . Even scored 76 on one of kaplans practice test. Is anyone else struggling with this one? Anyone have tips on what I could try for studying? Part of me feels like I should be studying a dictionary because I don’t know if it’s the wording or whatttt ! Helppp… pls . I’m so close …

Hang in there! I feel like the S63 is one of the most challenging exams. Although it’s shorter, there are still a ton of rules/regulations to memorize. And because it’s shorter, each question effectively counts for more. Plus, due to the nature of the situational questions and focus on memorized knowledge, it’s hard to make educated guesses.
The best advice I can give is to review the information again, very carefully and focused like you’re going through it for the first time. There are two tricks that can help with this:
- Explain each concept to someone (real or imaginary). Being forced to teach a concept changes our mindset and exposes the weaker parts of our understanding.
- Play the “what if” game as you review. If a question says they have an office in Maine, how would the choices/answers change if the office was in California? What if they have 5 retail investors instead of 10?
I know it’s very frustrating and stressful to be so close… you can do it!
