I’m uncertain whether I’m fully prepared for the 63 exam or if there are additional topics I should review beyond what Achievable covers. Initially, I had a basic understanding of the concepts, scoring 73 on the first final exam and 82 on the second. To deepen my comprehension, I reread the entire textbook, tackled each chapter’s review questions and exams, aiming for scores of 85% or higher. Subsequently, I completed three full practice exams, scoring 87, 88, and 93, and achieved 90 and 95 on the final exam retakes. I reviewed each answer thoroughly to ensure I understood my mistakes and successes. Feeling confident, I scheduled my exam for 5 days from now. However, after taking a readiness assessment on the FinraExamPrep app, I scored only 68% and encountered unfamiliar questions I couldn’t explain well. Rereading the textbook made many things click for me, but I’m concerned that the exam might resemble this app’s questions and am unsure of my next steps.
Hi, I reviewed your account and it looks like you’re in good shape.
We don’t use competitor resources for legal reasons, but I haven’t even heard of “LearnZApp”—they certainly aren’t one of the major players in this space. If you have access to additional resources, we encourage you to take practice exams from multiple vendors, as being exposed to various expressions of these concepts can give you a more robust understanding. However, in my opinion, these questions don’t feel representative of the actual exam, so I wouldn’t stress out about them.
Could you please review my account and suggest which sections, chapters, or topics I might need to revisit? Additionally, if you notice any bad habits I should address, I’d appreciate your input. I saw your previous comments about the importance of not just studying the questions but also understanding why certain answer choices are correct or incorrect, and when they apply. I don’t believe I do too much of this (unless the question is VERY easy). I’m eager to identify any areas where I can improve, so any feedback would be very helpful!
Hi @ebattle07, your progress looks great overall: you’ve taken a good amount of practice exams, and it seems you’re taking your time to thoughtfully consider and answer the questions.
I’d encourage you to spend more time reviewing the past exams you’ve taken, going slowly, question by question, emphasizing the ones you missed or guessed. If you don’t fully understand why you got the question wrong, go back and revisit that section of the chapter. The next day after reviewing, try taking the Focus version of that quiz to reinforce that trickier information.
Your scores on Registration look a little lower than the rest, but still good overall, which is why I’d recommend you focus on specific questions rather than a general review of the material.
I have my exam scheduled for this Friday, and am pretty nervous on whether I am prepared or not. I feel like my understanding of the concepts are pretty solid now after rereading the Regulations chapter, and I can provide an explanation for 90 % of right and wrong answers. However, my only concern is that I won’t be able to grasp the wording on the actual 63 exam.
I took a look at a series 63 practice exam by a Youtuber called “Series 7 Guru”, and scored 51/60 with the different wording on that exam. Are there any other YouTube videos or crash courses you recommend I review before my exam? I wanna avoid overstudying, and just lightly going over key concepts. I’ve already memorized the dump sheet, so any other resources or recommendations would be highly appreciated!
I understand you want to be very well-prepared, but it sounds like you’re in a good place! You mentioned that you’re scoring 87, 88, and 93 on our practice exams, and just scored an 85 on the one from a different vendor, so that’s a great sign. If you have access to other materials they’re always helpful for the variety, but we don’t have recommendations for other materials since we’ve designed Achievable to include everything you need to pass.
