I am just a week into my studying and am concerned that my Practice and Chapter Test scores are too low. I’m scoring around 70% on them consistently. I am only through Chapter 7, should I be concerned? Should I be scoring higher on these exams before getting to the final exam?
Hi @Anne_Torp, Scoring around 70% this early isn’t too low at all. Much of the material starts to click as you move forward and begin connecting concepts across chapters, so it’s normal for scores to improve as your foundation builds.
A good strategy is to use midterm tests to identify your weakest areas, review those sections, and then retake quizzes to raise your scores. For example, on your last midterm, you scored lowest in Preferred stock, so you can review that area in depth to get your score up in that section to bring your overall score up. You can also use the Review feature on your dashboard (under Study Progress → Review), which prioritizes topics you’ve struggled with and material you haven’t seen recently so that you can target specific subchapters there. Once you start taking full practice exams, use the exam summaries to guide your focused reviews, and aim for mid-to-upper 80s on practice exams to give yourself a comfortable buffer for test-day nerves or a tougher-than-usual question set.
Hope this helps!
Best,
Mataia
