Review vs Practice Questions

Gone through thirteen chapters of the textbook so far at 50% exam readiness. I decided to pause a bit to do some review questions and gauge how much of the concepts I’ve been able to retain.

I wanted to know if these review quizzes improve exam readiness like the practice exams do or should I just focus on the practice exams and completing the remaining two chapters?

I found that doing the full textbook first, then taking the SIE full practice exam was better. After you’re done you can target your review questions to your area of weakness, at least that worked for me and you’re more time efficient.

@Elvira_Bailey That’s great progress! Review quizzes are beneficial; they don’t increase your readiness score as directly as practice exams, but they strongly improve retention and help you remember the material for test day.

That’s solid advice from @Roland_Homenick, and it aligns well with how Achievable is designed to be used. Review quizzes are great for reinforcing what you’ve already learned, but they don’t move your readiness score as much as full practice exams do.

Since you’ve already made it through 13 chapters, it probably makes sense to finish the remaining two, then take a full practice exam like Roland suggested. That’ll give you a clear picture of your strengths and weaknesses. After that, you can use review quizzes to focus on those weaker areas and strengthen retention. If you need a break and want to work on past sections using the review feature, it can only help you potentially score better on the practice exams when you get to that point.
