Passed SIE and Series 7 first try, taking Series 66 in a few days

I don’t have an education background in finance, I have an engineering degree. For anyone wondering what sort of studying/metrics I had going into these exams:

I started studying for the SIE using achievable on June 29th and passed first try not even 2 weeks later in early July. I did some studying before I found achievable, but the bulk of it was just with achievable. I read the whole book, I took every chapter practice exam, most of the checkpoint exams, Final Exam A, B, and 4 randomized full exams. I averaged 83.83% on the 6 final exams, and my exam readiness score was 99%.

I started studying for the Series 7 using achievable on August 20th, and passed first try about 3 weeks later in early September. I read the whole book, took all the chapter practice exams again, Final Exams A and B, and 7 randomized full exams, averaging 93.22% with exam readiness at 100%. I actually managed to get a 99% on one practice exam.

For both actual exams, there was a lot that felt different than the practice exams, but I do think the practice exams prepare you well if you keep taking them.

In a few days I’ll be taking the Series 66. I’ve been studying with the course since September 20th. So far I’ve read the whole book, taken all the chapter exams, Final Exams A and B, and 3 randomized full exams. Averaging 91.4% so far, and already at 100% exam readiness.

For me, grinding away at the reading and exams heavily in the week or two leading up to the exams has worked well. I would definitely recommend planning on at least 2 or 3 days in the week before your exam where you can really put some hours in and just keep taking practice exams and then reviewing the answers.

Hi @Elsa_Feest, Congratulations on your progress and success! :tada:

Thanks for sharing your detailed study breakdown. This is incredibly helpful for others coming from non-finance backgrounds. What an inspiration! It’s a great example of how consistency and focused practice pay off.

We design Achievable to build a strong foundation without overloading you on minor details, so it’s really encouraging to see that approach worked well for you. Your method of ramping up with practice exams in the final week is exactly what we recommend; it helps solidify concepts and boost confidence before test day.

Great job preparing for your Series 66, you’ve got this! :flexed_biceps:

Thank you!

Just passed the 66! I went into it after answering 1280 questions with 92.2% accuracy. This exam felt a bit easier than the 7 and SIE, but I think it’s just because I had a lot of applicable knowledge from those already going into this. There were a handful of questions I encountered that I had no exposure to from the achievable study material, but overall this did prepare me well for most of it.

@Elsa_Feest Congratulations on passing your Series 66! :tada:

It sounds like all your hard work really paid off, especially with the solid foundation you built from the SIE and Series 7. We’re so glad to hear Achievable helped you feel prepared!

Thanks for sharing your feedback about the handful of unfamiliar questions. The 66 can mix in a few curveballs, but it’s great that you felt confident overall.

Enjoy the win!
