In general, investors can invest in these WITHIN THE RETIREMENT PLANS?

  • Stocks (common and preferred)
  • Bonds
  • Mutual funds
  • Unit investment trusts (UITs)
  • US Government issued coins

just wanna make sure i am reading that correctly.

Thanks!

Yes, you understand it correctly. The idea is to avoid super risky investments since you need that money during retirement.

I’ve just updated the wording; do you think this is clearer?

Generally speaking, the investments made within retirement plans can include:

  • Stocks (common and preferred)
  • Bonds
  • Mutual funds
  • Unit investment trusts (UITs)
  • US Government issued coins
