Looking for some advice after study break

Hello,

I am hoping for some guidance/advice on how to move forward towards passing on my third an final attempt.

When I failed the first time I was upset, but took it as an opportunity to sharpen my knowledge and use the experience to crush the test on my second attempt but unfortunately, after hours of studying, utilizing a dump sheet and even having a tutor I failed with 68%.

I was so close! It was so frustrating and demotivating I ended up taking a break from studying for months now…

I have job opportunities coming up and I really need to pass the SIE, I I don’t pass this time I have to wait 6 months and I absolutely cannot afford to do that.

I have taken a few practice exams and I am scoring quite low, I feel like I’ve forgot a lot of little details but I still remember a lot and I pick up things pretty quick. I just have a really hard time focusing working two jobs and having a life, it’s hard to want to study after work.

I need some advice on what to do going forward, I’ve been reading some sections I did not finish the first time through but thinking of reading the WHOLE thing again is very daunting…

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @Christian_Reichel. I’m sorry to hear you failed the exam. I reviewed your account and have some feedback that will help next time around.

Based on your quiz and exam performance, it looks like some foundational knowledge is still missing, which is completely fixable with the proper structure and approach. Since it appears you didn’t make it through the full textbook, I’d strongly recommend a full reset of your account. This gives you a clean slate and a chance to follow the course as intended from start to finish.

After the reset, use the study planner to enter your target test date. It’ll automatically break the course into manageable daily tasks to keep you on track. Then, go through each section of the textbook and take the review quiz for that section. If you do well, you’re safe to move on. But if the score is low or the content feels shaky, that’s a clear signal to re-read that section carefully. Make sure to read each question and explanation thoroughly. This will help reinforce key concepts and highlight areas that need more attention. If you are worried about how long that will take, you can jump to the quiz on pages that seem very familiar. If you do poorly on the quiz, then you should read that full page though.

Once you’ve gone through the book, taking multiple full-length practice exams in the allotted time is crucial. After each one, spend ~1-2 hours reviewing it thoroughly. Go through every question, read the explanations, and use that to pinpoint your strengths and weaknesses. Revisit the textbook where needed based on those results.

I understand that going through the entire book again can feel daunting, especially while juggling two jobs. But this is your final attempt before a six-month wait, and investing in a complete, structured approach now will save you time and stress down the line. You mentioned you pick things up quickly, and that’s a great strength to lean on. Now, it’s just about being consistent and following the plan.

Let us know if you want us to reset your account or if you need help with anything else. We’re here to support you!

Thank you,
-Brenden

Hi Brenden, can you reset my quiz summary score? It is still showing 63% after the reset.

Hi @Christian_Reichel, I did reset your memory progress, but due to the way our system works, it isn’t possible to completely delete your study history. That’s why the quiz summary section still shows your previous summary. My recommendation is to use the time filters on that section to show your recent studying!

Thank you,
-Brenden
