Has anyone who has taken the SIE noticed a lack of detail on the questions compared to achievable questions? I took a FINRA practice exam today and some of the questions lacked context for example one of them was “Which of the following represents the effects of a stock split?” Then with answer choices describing a forward and reverse split, when it was not specified in the question, there was several questions like this just wondering if this is something I should expect on the real exam.
Hi, although you’re only asked 75 questions, the SIE has thousands of testable learning objectives, and we have thousands of questions covering them!
Some questions are very detailed and others are very vague - just like actual FINRA questions. Two people testing on the same day often have very different experiences, so you need to prepare for everything!
Hi! Yes have noticed this. After some research, I have concluded that in the case a question is asked without denoting a stock split as “forward stock split” or “reverse stock split”, a “stock split” refers to a forward stock split. In other words, if a question goes without denoting, “reverse”, it ought to be assumed the question is referring to a “forward” stock split. Again, in other words, a “stock split” IS a “forward stock split”, but a “stock split” is NOT a “reverse stock split”.
