Took the SIE for first time and failed with a 61%. Planning on trying again in a month. But i feel really optimistic since i have no background in this industry whatsoever. Is it possible to reset my test scores on the study course so i can restart with fresh numbers?
Hi @Bob.Altrudo, glad you’re keeping a positive mindset!
I’ve reset your exam scores, but otherwise, kept your study history intact.
I reviewed your account, and a few things will make your studying much more effective and improve your scores.
Most importantly, make sure to take many more full practice exams! I can see you took many of the chapter exams, which is great, but it looks like you only took 3 of the full-length ones, scoring in the mid-50s. Typically it’s a good idea to wait to take your actual exam until you’re consistently scoring in the mid-80s or higher. Most people take 5-10 full practice exams to reach this point.
It will also benefit you to slow down, ensuring you read every question carefully, think about the answer, and only then pick your choice. You’re going through questions in about 1/4 of the allotted time, which indicates you’re jumping to choices that seem familiar rather than working through the concepts.
Lastly, it’s essential to carefully review every question you’re getting wrong, and to understand why you missed it to study this information and get it right the next time, even if a different aspect of the concept is tested. With this kind of focused review, you should see your exam scores steadily rise as you master weaker concepts!
