Failed First Attempt (70%)

As you can see by the header, I failed my first attempt. I do want to share my thoughts about the exam and Achievable as I’ve always been one to read comments and gain as much information as possible so hoping this does the same for others.

All in all, Achievable is alright. It will make you feel good in the moment when you’re crossing things off your exam countdown timeline, taking practices quizzes, seeing green check marks etc. However (big emphasis), it does not prepare you well enough for the exam.

Something that really frustrated me with Achievable was towards the end of my studying, if I wanted to ask for clarification on a topic a message would pop up with something along the lines of “be mindful, you’ve submitted a lot of feedback. We’re happy to help but want to help those who need it more.” When I saw that message,

Achievable put a bad taste in my mouth. If I’m paying $200 for your materials, I should be able to ask as many questions as I want without it telling me to basically back off. I continued to ask my questions. The folks are very responsive which I did appreciate.

Regarding the actual exam, it was 10x harder than the practice exams I’d been taking. I was reading up before hand, how the list of possible answers for every question all look good on the real thing which was true. Achievable is the opposite. Achievable’s practice exams immediately allow you to cross out 2 maybe even 3 right off the bat even if you don’t fully know the answer. That’s where I think it really failed me.

My exam readiness score was an 80%. I took 10 total exams and passed the last 5 in the high 70s and 80. I kept trying to tell myself I was going to pass. Not cocky, but confident. To come up short by 2 wrong questions is pain beyond measure.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. I am genuinely sorry you came up just short. Missing by two questions is incredibly frustrating, especially after putting in that much work.

I want to address a few of your points directly.

First, your exam-readiness score was 80%, as you mentioned. Yes, that is a strong starting point, but it does not indicate full preparedness. At the top of your dashboard, we projected a score slightly under the passing mark based on your performance data. While I completely understand how painful the outcome feels, the result itself was consistent with the system’s prediction.

Regarding the support, you submitted around 30 messages throughout your studies, and we responded to all of them with an average response time of under an hour. We are absolutely happy to help, and we believe that the record shows it. The pop-up you saw is triggered automatically when someone submits a high volume of feedback. Some users abuse the system by sending messages without first working through the material carefully. The reminder is there to encourage independent problem-solving and to maintain a high level of support quality for everyone. Your questions were thoughtful, and we appreciate that, and answered them accordingly.

On pricing, we understand $200 is a meaningful investment. At the same time, compared to other Series 7 prep providers, it is on the lower end of the market, especially when considering the responsiveness and instructional support we provided. As another comparison, private tutors in this space often charge around $200/hour.

As for exam difficulty, our question bank is designed to mirror the real exam as closely as possible, and we make hundreds of updates every month to keep it aligned. The exam draws from thousands of potential questions, and each candidate receives only a small subset. Some exams will feel more straightforward, while others are more nuanced. That variability is exactly why reaching true mastery is so important.

The good news is that you were very close, and your actual result aligned closely with the projection. If you continue studying, focus on your weak areas, and follow the system’s recommendations to improve your readiness, you are in a strong position to pass on your next attempt.
