Fact Re-enforcement / flash cards (Series 65)

When I get to the results of an assessment, I notice that about half of the missed questions involve simple facts and the other half involve application. It would be helpful if there were a resource for reinforcement of the simple facts prior to application. That way, it is clear what simply needs to be drilled and memorized.

I was a teacher for about 20 years. What I would often see is that the test bank that comes with textbooks identifies questions based on fact vs. application (sometimes called “depth of knowledge” where DOK1 is a factual question).

If there were a way to interact with a test bank to do this that would be helpful. Otherwise, if there were flashcards or similar resources where someone else has done that part, that would be great. If not in Achievable, otherwise? There are questions on peer-peer platforms such as Quizlet that have this, but I really don’t trust questions that are not vetted by someone knowledgeable.

It looks like the factual information is well contained on the dump sheets. If those were turned into flashcards, that would be amazing.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hi @Myron_Bernier,

I appreciate you sharing your thoughts.

Our quizzes are designed to give you the benefits of flashcards, but in a smarter way. They prompt active recall, which is one of the most effective techniques for building long-term memory, and every question includes a clear explanation to help the information stick. On top of that, our adaptive system tracks your progress and automatically focuses on the areas where you need the most reinforcement, so you’re always studying efficiently.

If you’d like to focus on memorizing key facts, the dump sheet is perfect for that. It’s packed with all the essential information you’ll want to know cold before moving into more application-style questions. You can then test your memorization using the Review feature on your dashboard, treat it like your set of flashcards! You can even filter by the sections you’re having the most difficulty with to drill those topics more effectively.

Please let me know if there’s anything else I can do to support you as you study.

Thank you,
Mataia

Great response, this is helpful for me. I’m 75% through the content and am thinking through the remaining strategy. I’ve made the mistake of letting the review questions build up to 1,000 so I know I blew through some of the Review when ready obsessing over double taking quizzes. I plan to re-engage the study plan to close out strong in the remaining three weeks + the dump sheets and as many practice exams I can do in the last 1.5 weeks.

Hi @Gertrude_Schultz,

Thank you for the update! It sounds like you’re in a solid position, and it’s great that you’re thinking strategically about the final stretch. Hitting 75% of the content with three weeks left gives you plenty of time to close strong.

You’re right that building up a large backlog of review questions can happen when you’re focusing on quizzes or double-taking sections. The good news is that you don’t need to clear all 1,000 reviews to succeed. The review system is designed to support retention, not punish you for missing some days. What matters most now is using your remaining time efficiently.

Here’s the general approach I recommend for the remainder of your prep:

  1. Stick to the schedule to finish the reading
Follow your study plan as closely as possible and continue reading through the assigned chapters. Make sure to take the quiz at the bottom of each page; these reinforce the material while it’s fresh.
  2. Use extra time for review quizzes
If you have additional study time after completing the day’s reading, spend it working through review quizzes from the dashboard. These are incredibly valuable for long-term retention and simulating how concepts will resurface on test day. But don’t stress about clearing the entire queue; consistency matters more than hitting zero.
  3. Once the reading is completed, shift your focus
After you finish all the content:
    • Prioritize full-length practice exams and section exams
    • Review everything you missed or guessed on
    • Use your dump sheets to lock in formulas, definitions, and high-yield concepts
    • Add occasional review quizzes to reinforce spacing

Practice exams during the last 1.5-2 weeks will be especially important for identifying weak areas and building stamina.

You got this!

Best,
Mataia

Thank you! Very helpful guidance. Confirms my approach, reduces anxiety.
This is like high-impact tutoring
QQ- where are the dump sheets located in the platform?

Hi @Gertrude_Schultz, the dump sheets are located under the “resource” tab! Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to support you as you study.
