Economic Market Structures

Hello. I have been studying with a different course for the SIE exam, and I wanted to try the practice exams with Achievable after hearing good reviews. On a practice exam, there was a question about monopolies, perfect competition, etc, but I have never come across this topic before in the other course that I was taking? Further, I didn’t see this as a topic in the FINRA exam outline. Could someone please clarify why this was included on the test, and if this is a testable topic. Thank you!

Hi @Steve_Pagac. Thanks for reaching out and trying Achievable!

We can’t speak to how other courses build their material, but we make hundreds of monthly updates based on student feedback, industry changes, and what’s showing up on the exam.

FINRA keeps its test bank tightly guarded, so not everything is spelled out clearly in the outline. That said, topics like monopolies and market structures have come up before, either directly or indirectly. We include them to ensure you’re not caught off guard on test day.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to support you as you study. Thank you,
-Brenden
