Best ways to study after failing

Failed my first attempt at the series 6 what’s the best way to study going into my 30 days to strengthen the parts I was weak on? should I just do a bunch of practice exams for those specific chapters along with final exams and review each question explanation thoroughly or reread chapters ? Idk

Hi @Dolores_Kertzmann, sorry to hear about the first attempt. 30 days gives you plenty of time to target your weak spots. I looked at your study report. These are the areas to focus on:

  • US government debt
  • The secondary market
  • Retirement & education plans

For those sections, I’d recommend this order:

  1. Reread the chapter. Since these are your gaps, go back through the material rather than jumping straight into questions.
  2. Retake the chapter quizzes and aim for 70% or higher.
  3. Review every explanation, including the ones you got right. That’s where the knowledge gaps really close.
  4. Take a full practice exam once those areas feel solid. Taking full exams too early just keeps showing you the same gaps. Fix them first, then use practice exams to check your progress and build stamina.

In the last week or two, shift to mostly full practice exams. Review each one carefully, and go back to the chapter for any topic that keeps tripping you up.

You’ve got this. Let us know if you have any questions along the way!

Best,
Mataia
