I am feeling a lot closer to being ready to take my third attempt!
I took a long break so it was hard to get back into the swing of things but after working with a tutor and reading the book a third time I’ve started to find some strategies that work for me.
Currently I take the final exams and use the focus feature to test on the areas I missed take notes then retest once I have a better grasp of why I go those questions wrong.
That has got me the point of getting around 70% consistently however this being my third and final go at the test I want to ensure I have the best chance to pass I can.
Any recommendations to get my score up to 80%? Should I keep doing what I’ve been doing? Is 80% average good enough or should I aim higher?
Hi @Christian_Reichel, Thank you for reaching out. It’s great to hear that you’re feeling closer to being ready for your third attempt! It sounds like you’ve put in great effort, rereading the book, working with a tutor, and refining your approach. That’s all excellent progress.
You’re on the right track with your current study method. Continue using focus tests to target your weak areas, review your notes, and make sure you truly understand why you missed each question. Once you’ve strengthened those topics, start taking full-length exams under realistic test conditions (no instant feedback, timed, and distraction-free).
Keep going until you’re consistently scoring in the mid-to-upper 80s across at least five full-length exams. That buffer gives you extra confidence to handle test-day nerves or a tougher exam version.
From your study report, it looks like Investment Companies and Options are your weakest areas. I’d recommend revisiting those chapters in depth and retaking the quizzes until your scores rise there before taking another full-length practice exam.
You’re very close. You’ve got this!
