SIE Exam Help and Advice

I took my first attempt at the SIE Exam in March of this year and scored a 69%. I used Kaplan for that first try, but I really did not put a lot of effort. I then used Achievable, sort of, and got a 66%. I then had a hard reset and have done every reading and every exam. I have an 80% readiness after completing a lot of the tasks this time around. I take my exam for the third time on July 2nd.

I was wondering what study tips I could follow for the next week leading up to my exam that would give me the best chance of success.

Hi @Olivia_Czech - you’re almost there, hang in there!

You’ve put in a lot of time, and you can make meaningful progress with a few adjustments to your study approach.

The most important thing is to continue studying until you consistently pass our practice exams; only then should you sit for the real one.

Remember, practice exams aim to identify weak areas for deeper review, not just to complete them quickly. You finish exams in less than a quarter of the allotted time, which isn’t enough to carefully read and evaluate each question. Slow down, read each prompt thoroughly, and think critically through each answer choice.

Equally important: spend a few hours reviewing every exam in detail. This is the most significant opportunity for improvement. Without that focused review, it’s easy to repeat the same mistakes. Take time to understand why each answer is right or wrong, fill in any gaps in your knowledge, and aim to master the concepts, especially so you can recognize them even when they appear in new contexts.

You’re on the right track, keep at it and stay focused.
