I failed the Series 7 and got a 66% on my first attempt. I scored Borderline Performance in Section 1 and Section 4 and Low Performance in Section 2 and Section 3. The last five practice tests I took before taking the actual exam I averaged a 79%. My exam readiness score was 89% as well.
What areas should I focus on studying now? Is there a way to only reset those specific sections to study or would I have to reset all of the study material? I plan on taking the exam again in 32 days. Any advice is appreciated, thank you!
I’m really sorry to hear that - you’re right on the edge.
We’re able to reset your entire course, just the content, or just the exams. We don’t have the ability to reset specific chapters of the content right now, but we have this tracked as a feature request.
I’d recommend spending most of your time reviewing your past exams, taking the focus quizzes, and reviewing the text as needed to fill in any weaker areas. I noticed you’re going through the exams pretty quickly, typically in less than 30s per question, so slowing down to carefully consider the options and the reason behind your choice might be a good strategy. It looks like you have an overall strong grasp of the material based on your study history - was it the wording that was challenging, exam-day stress, or something else? Doing a little retrospective on your exam experience and thinking about what could be improved for next time might shed some light on where to go from here.
The FINRA sections are extremely broad, so I’d suggest you focus more on your exam and review score breakdowns, but here is a mapping of the FINRA sections to our textbook chapters:
